I care about people, their welfare and
their feelings. I generally respect those who respond in any thoughtful
manner, are not afraid to state their opinions, and act considerate of
mine. I get upset by non-responders and those who put (me or anyone else)
down without expressing a reason. I generally bust my ass to help people
out for free. It's a matter of the lack of their respect, which results
from the way I present myself to them. I could change and become a person
people would respect, but then they would not like me. Being liked has
never earned me very much money. Being respected left not only myself, but
my entire family very hungry.
The thing
is, it's not me who is, in general, really at fault EXCEPT I do not brag
about all the certificates I have won all through my life and display them
on my wall like people who DO get respect. I just do little, unnoticeable
things instead, like try to pay attention to what they say and understand
their point of view. I let the superficial things slide, let my hair get a
little long, don't wear a suit and tie, don't refuse to get my hands dirty
to help someone, try not to act like I'm better and smarter than they are,
don't criticize unless I can show them a better way (and don't force it on
them when they are not interested), and try to sound and act like somebody
who actually cares about other people instead of feeling like I have to
compete with them. I generally feel that other people are MORE capable
than they think, not less.
Most people
seem to look down on me because of my life philosophy. They have gotten
theirs second hand from the Christian religion, and judge everybody else
according to its slavery-inducing concepts. In our country, people who are
not slaves are looked down on by the slaves! Slaves will always regard a
free-thinking man with suspicion and contempt. You can see this in other
ways: the Muslims are even more enslaved to their religion than the
Christians and Jews, and feel like Christians and Jews are to be
eradicated. Catholics eradicated hundreds of thousands of people before
their reign of terror ended, which may have resulted in the current Muslim
contempt. Protestants and Muslims will do the same before their era ends,
and we may have to go through a millennium of either a Protestant or
Muslim version of the Catholic horror many years before some other
hideous concept comes along to replace them. People forget history too
willingly, are not wise about looking toward the future, and too willingly
make a joke when someone expresses their concern. That is the reason for
the question that introduces this rant.
When someone
does or says things that purposefully ignorant people will make jokes
about, they do of course look down on him as a result and show that by
their actions, friends or not. They made a joke of his heartfelt,
hard-earned viewpoint, and in doing so have put him down to a level
beneath themselves in their own minds. People, being lazy, don't want to
acknowledge someone may have studied hard to learn a whole hell of a lot
of things they are too scared to know about, and too lazy to care about.
That's why my books don't sell: People would rather make a joke of them
than to know what's in them, because what's in them may take a little
strain to learn how to understand. People will not argue with something on
its own terms when they don't know what its terms are, and don't want to
know. They will use lies and jokes to put it down, or anything else they
can to avoid the struggle of updating their knowledge. They get so far
away from reality that their religion is all they have left, and they
don't really understand it!
