CumBax
The Mythadventures of Mythologia

Hit Counter

by Lloyd Harrison Whitling

Mythical madness rules mankind

All ways to keep truth undefined.

There are a few who know truth well,

But, who have feared the truth to tell.

Man learned from experience

That into truth he could make dents;

Others deny what they have found,

And refused to keep the truth around.

They insist: "There is no truth!

"Without the gods, you have no proof!

"We have the books it's written in;

"What you call 'truth', we call it 'sin'."

And so, on and on the arguments go. Scientists look for answers to questions; the religious claim answers unquestioned. Each side has a story to tell and their own principles to rely on: Science claims the five acknowledged senses hold the key to factual truth; the religious claim the same five senses provide only the illusion of truth. A person with the best understanding of both sides should be able to successfully argue from either position, and have a facility to acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of both.

First CumBax portrays Christian arguments against secular answers. After more than two years of gathering the required information, 110 such arguments are paired with their secular responses in a ninety page book, which you can sample by perusing the links across from the poem at the top of this page.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Second CumBax delves deeper into religious territory. Dangerous fascist forces are at work on their intentions to prevail over American culture and threaten to end our way of life and perhaps the world itself. Too many of us pooh-pooh their effectiveness, while they have busied themselves over several decades learning how to use our apathy to their own advantage. What do they have to say for themselves? What are the answers to that? Enough to scare the wits out of the most lethargic of us will find a home between the covers of this telling book. It's availability will be announced on this page in the near future.

"To deny a right to the experience of pleasure is immoral unless that denial can be justified by a valid presentation of how pain will result from that experience in an amount that would render the expected pleasure regrettable; or, if it can be shown that pain will be induced in others innocent of any involvement. The role of science in moral issues should be to test that, predict that, and find harmless ways to demonstrate that."
