This page will
mainly develop into a list of framing terminology intended for secular
use. Words adopted for it will be those which elicit secular values,
especially Secular Progressive values. Their use will be to help in
explaining secular progressive values, and for their defense. I recommend
adopting them for common usage when speaking and writing. They are
important to that usage. They support your secular world views.
One member of a
discussion group, Don Turner, whose colorful language never fails to
inspire me, inspired this page with his use of "late term abortion" in
reference to soldiers sent to die in foreign countries. It is a takeoff
from the rightwing reference to abortion in the late months of a
pregnancy. I suggested "Post-Term Abortion" as a direct, almost
self-defining term to adopt.
Post-Partum
Abortion may be even better, used in place of
'murder'. It requires no explaining about a word that refers to aborting
human life as wrong at any stage, and just as demanding of protection and
sanctity for all its duration. Anyone against abortion, here is where to
start. All that remains is to settle "at exactly what point does life
begin?", which is meat for another discussion in another page.
Dominionism/Dominionist refers to the groups of
those who have usurped the Christian religion and abandoned its message in
preference for one that attempts to set the stage wherein they can force
the return of God to rule upon the earth. Often referred to as
'Evangelical Christians' or "Conservative Christians', they are not
Christians at all, and are causing bad feelings about Christianity on the
outside, and about their manipulations of Christians on the inside. Many
Christians, just now beginning to realize they have been duped and made a
mockery of, are now hearing themselves being referred to as "not real
Christians" by the usurpers, and have begun to turn against them. What is
called Theocratic Dominionism is tied to Christian
Reconstructionism (see below), the rise of which Pat Robertson receives
credit for by onlookers for having set the stealth agenda to reclaim
America for God. Theocratic Dominionism can be
defined as "the seizure of earthly (temporal) power by the church as the
only means though which the world can be rescued; only after the world has
been 'rescued' can Christ return to 'rule and reign'." [2] A more extreme
version, Theonomy, seeks to reinstate Old Testament civil code, for
example, putting to death (by an electric chair versus stoning) all
homosexuals and gluttons (from

Smog
Initiatives (also referred to as "Dark Skies" or
"Gray Skies" by progressives) are those actions by the government to turn
back environmental requirements to the smoky days of yesteryear.
Regressives
and Regressivists refers to conservative activists who sponsor and argue
for bills that undo the accomplishments progressives have inspired on many
fronts.
Reconstructionist/Reconstructionism is the
branch of Judaism founded in the United States in the 20th century that
regards Judaism as a religious civilization and questions the doctrine
that the Jews are God's chosen people. A reconstructionist is an adherent
to that doctrine (American Heritage). "Christian Reconstructionism", whose
goal is to eliminate religious freedom, seeks to impose a narrowly defined
Bible-based political, religious, and social order (a theocracy). Any
thing outside the church's interpretation would be suppressed.
Nonconforming Christian churches would no longer be allowed to hold
services, organize, proselytize, and so forth. Even blasphemy -- however
"they" want to define it -- would be criminalized. When found guilty, they
would be executed -- thus raising the specter of religious genocide.

"To deny a right to the experience of pleasure
is immoral unless that denial can be justified by a valid presentation of
how pain will result from that experience in an amount that would render
the expected pleasure regrettable; or, if it can be shown that pain will
be induced in others innocent of any involvement. The role of science in
moral issues should be to test that, predict that, and find harmless ways
to demonstrate that."
