I would likely faint if someone actually made a meaningful (or even minuscule) donation in support of my work or this web site. I will feel very surprised to learn that anybody will look at this page, let alone the rest of it. Be that as it may, I plod onward for my own edification, letting this be a repository for what I am learning as I go through life.

Like anybody whose neck is stuck out in public, I get lots of requests for donations, support (in various forms such as via subscriptions, purchases, actual physical efforts in somebody's behalf, and all the rest), or promotion. Many such requests arrive in a message telling about someone's efforts in my behalf, and so imply I am indebted to someone who hopes to benefit from my largesse and I ought to feel guilty for my nonpayment and lack of zeal. Perhaps you have noticed I am not all that responsive?

Like any American I depend on an income to have an outgo. Donations are enabled only by that. My needs are simple, and go not far beyond survival and the ability to stay creative and interested in life. I support lots of causes by writing about them, and performing in those that prove to be rewarding. It is therein that you my find the reasons for my lack of fiscal support for your efforts. In what way has your cause shown itself to be rewarding to me, either as a participant, or a direct result of efforts on your behalf to help fill my stated simple needs? Have you promoted any of my work on your website, and let me know about it? Have you purchased anything of mine? Even worse, is your request for a cause I would not support (How would you know that without spending more time than it takes to glean contact information from my various websites)?

As a secular naturist, I champion a wide range of philosophical doctrines that, to me, appear inter-related. Others who support one or two from whatever list I would generate and display of them (you could work out such a list from this website and the links it offers to others) thoughtlessly and irrationally exclude my work because they do not condone every candidate I would support, had I the wherewithal. I see that as divide and conquer in action, and divide and conquer promoted not by those who would divide and conquer us, but from amidst our own ranks. I cannot condone nor support that which works against my better interests and against humanity overall. I regard that as immoral.

If you demand my support, look to your own efforts to deserve it: What have you done to support me in any fashion? Has it produced any measurable results? Can you verify that? Have you actually ended up working against me? If you will not help me to help you, I cannot feel anything beyond regret about whatever one-sided relationship we might have.

There are too many of you out there, and only one of me. By your own actions, you will select those who will qualify for whatever support and donations your own efforts may enable. Your help to promote my books is the only hope you have to enable my ability to reward you.
