MAIN LIBRARY HOME PAGE
There are some things in this world that just can't be
placed in any category: Their scope is too all-encompassing, the road they
take too winding, or the places they take you to seem too unusual and
unexpected. Sometimes their authors exude a special vision, or exemplify a
manner of expression that is all their own. Such books deserve a category
all by themselves, and this page is it.
Not miscellaneous, but special books with unexpected
visions unaccounted for, or too unique to fit uncertain classifications. One
of them might provide a kind of guidebook for the road you feel inclined to
follow, or give you something to stand on while you stretch to greater
heights in your achievements.
I believe it was Woodrow Wilson who insisted four
freedoms be recognized: That of religion, of expression, of politics, and
from want. We practice many more than that, and deem them our rightful
privilege.
Personal freedom always balances with personal
security. Wisdom enables us to seek the kind of security that most greatly
allows us to practice the actions of free and creative people who—if they
believe in a creator God—will imitate that in their own acts of living
and—if they do not—will recognize that creative acts emanate from the
highest natural elements of their own selves.
This site is to recognize and give honor to that as an
ideal. The vast number of works you see on here gives you a sense of how
deeply people care about this.
